312,600,000 Scenes
Pre-Performance Installation (2020)
Using a randomization system, the piece cycles through an “infinite screenplay” - or, approximately 312,600,000 potential scene outcomes.
The site represents about a quarter of a page of a script. In screenwriting, a page is approximately seen as one minute of screen time. For this project, I created a series of five areas (Scene Header, Action, Sound/Focus, Character, and Dialogue) that are made up of 50 unique texts that alternate every 15 seconds - or, what would be a quarter of screen time - that generates a possible 312,600,000 unique scenarios. It’s absurd in nature but aims for coherency through its randomization.
